Everyone has something to give and we need everybody’s help. Be it a second hand clothing donation or R25 each month, your contribution does make a difference.

Please consider how you can get your own networks involved. Whether it is your friends, family, colleagues, fellow students, church congregation, or sports club, we are all part of something bigger. And it is amazing how a group of people can come together and achieve something great. So rally some support, do a collection for gifts in kind, host your own event in aid of Jo’burg Child Welfare (JCW). We welcome any and all ideas. Just get in touch! Here are some ideas to get you started…

Make a donation

A donation could be made for a number of reasons. You may want to make a difference to the life of a child, or maybe a donation in lieu of a special occasion such as a birthday, stork party or maybe at Christmas, in memory of loved one – the reasons could be endless!

Bequest

Consider leaving a lasting gift in the form of a bequest to Jo’burg Child Welfare.  All donations made to JCW are exempt from estate duty and donations tax.

Donate secondhand goods

Please consider donating your second hand clothing, linen, bric-a-brac, books, furniture, electronic goods and kitchen goods in a saleable/re-usable condition to Jo’burg Child Welfare (JCW). This same appeal applies to companies that find themselves with ‘end of line’ goods that can no longer be sold. If we are not able to make use of a donation within our services anywhere, the donation can be turned into much-needed funding in a variety of ways.

Organise your own fundraiser

Running a marathon? Celebrating your birthday? Nominate Jo’burg Child Welfare as the beneficiary on GivenGain.com or Doit4charity.org.za. These are great interactive sites designed to help you advertise your important day whilst making a difference.

Give as you earn/Employee giving

Join the Give as You Earn Programme administered by CAF Southern Africa. Employees can donate a portion of their monthly paycheck to JCW and the employer can opt to match the donation rand for rand. Please visit http://www.cafsouthernafrica.org/ for more info.

My School

Join the popular ‘My School’ supporter programme and nominate Jo’burg Child Welfare as your beneficiary. It is so simple! Every time you swipe your card at selected outlets, you will be making a direct contribution. Download the application form and send it to My School today.

Fill a Tin

Fill a tin at home, in your workplace or arrange for tins to be placed at your local shops. When the tin is full, get it back to us. You would be amazed at how ‘small’ amounts really add up!
